SoulSurfcamp is located on Lagide Beach on the Baleal peninsula. The best surf spots are right on your doorstep, and all surf spots are within a few minutes’ walk. Direct beach access and the large outdoor area with sun terrace, hammocks and sun loungers offer more than enough space to relax and unwind before and after surfing. I can fully recommend the Soul Surfcamp in Peniche/Baleal. The vibe there is very friendly. The surf course is top-notch. You get helpful tips to improve – and the fun definitely isn’t missing. There are 2 sessions a day, each 2 hours. The spots are right on your doorstep. Breakfast is served buffet-style. There’s something for everyone. Near the accommodation there are a few restaurants and a small supermarket. Different beaches are right outside the door.
I had a great time at the surf camp. The atmosphere is very family-like, and even as a solo traveller I felt really well looked after. The facilities are good and the location is unbeatable. I can also highly recommend the surf lessons as a complete beginner. Martin was super patient and a very good surf instructor. I’ll definitely book there again if I’m in the area.
We booked the 4-day course (7 sessions) and are really thrilled! Martin is humorous, motivating and explains everything with lots of wit. At the same time, he pushes you in just the right way. You can tell he’s a big animal lover and also supports local animal welfare, which we really liked. A certain level of fitness helps, but a lot also depends on technique, practice and trying things out. With Martin’s tips and patience, we managed in the end to stand steadily on the board. The camp grounds are very relaxed, with lots of places to sit and lounge. Since the apartments were already fully booked, we stayed in Peniche and cycled to Baleal, which was easy to do. All in all, a great experience that we can recommend to anyone who wants to learn to surf! 🌟
I was in Baleal for a week of surfing at the end of May. I had a really, really good time at the camp! The apartments are very cozy and equipped with everything you need. The grounds are in top condition and designed with lots of love. The view from the terrace over the sea and the beachfront location are priceless! From the camp you can walk to both beaches in Baleal with several surf spots. Martin and Den are super nice and helpful and have lots of different gear in good condition for rent at a fair price. I had a great time at the camp, with the people and in Baleal, and I’ll definitely be back!
I had a great time with Martin and his team! Martin is a fantastic host, very friendly and easy-going. The surf instructors impress with their expertise and the necessary patience, so it’s highly recommended for beginners too. The camp’s location is another big plus: in the morning you can enjoy the generous breakfast right on the terrace with a view of the surf spots. I can fully recommend Soulsurfcamp and it definitely won’t be my last time there!
